Neriman Hama Arif was born in the Iraqi Kurdistan city of Suleimaniyah the origin of most of the famous and well-known Kurdish artists, musicians and singers. Neriman showed artistic talents at a very young age, participating musically in all the activities of the youth center by playing keyboard and guitar as well as singing.
In order to fulfill his dreams of having his own band, Neriman, together with a group of young and ambitious musicians, established the famous (BABAN MUSICAL BAND) and together they presented a different type and style of Kurdish pop music using new techniques in a period when very few people were able to demonstrate their musical talents.

He participated in singing, playing keyboard, composing and writing Lyrics in all of the bands albums in the years 1983, 1985, 1986, 1988, 1990, 1992, 1993 and in their performances and finally through directing and photographing the video clips which became a new way in presenting Kurdish songs. When coming to live in Europe, Neriman went on alone in the music world and presented his first CD (diyariyak bo Baban), which became a huge success. In producing this CD, he used highly talented musicians, professional recording studios and later on he produced a new video clip involving more than 30 actors and high visual effects. Neriman’s hope is to keep serving his nation by offering and doing his utmost to keep on presenting mellow popular music.
